(NEW YORK) — The Latin-inspired dance fitness craze that swept all the land is about to set sail.
Billed as the “world’s first,” the Zumba Cruise is a five-day voyage on Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Jan. 25.
The company organizing the cruise promises more than 130 “celebrity Zumba instructors” on board the ship. Included in the lineup is Beto Perez, said to be the creator of Zumba.
Prices start at $644 per person based on four people sharing an interior stateroom. All Zumba activities, including a private concert in Labadee, Haiti, is included.
Guests have the opportunity to participate in as many as classes as they want including Aqua Zumba, Zumba Sentao (which includes a chair as a prop), Zumba Step and more. The ship will also call on Falmouth, Jamaica.
Outside of Zumba classes, the Independence of the Seas has 10 pools, an ice skating rink, a rock-climbing wall, a surf simulator, casino and on-board entertainment. Zumba cruisers will, in addition to the on board ship restaurants, be the first to try Plate by Zumba, the brand’s soon-to-be-launched healthy eating plan.
