Chadron State names new President

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ An administrator at Chadron State College has been chosen as the school's new president.

The college announced Thursday that interim president Randy Rhine will assume the job permanently on Jan. 15. Rhine has served on a temporary basis since May, when then-president Janie Park retired.

Rhine will become the college's 11th president. His career at Chadron State College started in 2005, when he was hired to help increase enrollment and guide the schools' efforts to provide students with an affordable education.

Rhine had previously served as an administrator at Montana State University in Billings.

The search was conducted by a panel of faculty, staff, students, community members and members of the Nebraska State College System's Board of Trustees.

Chadron State College is a four-year public institution with about 3,000 students.
