Idaho man rolls potato truck near Kimball
A 63 year old Idaho man remains in fair condition Monday morning at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff after tipping a semi-truck full of potatoes near Kimball on I-80 Saturday.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, Douglas Parris of Idaho Falls, Idaho was eastbound on I-80 Saturday afternoon just before 4:30 p.m. when he dropped his phone and lost control of the rig when he tried to pick it up. Parris swerved to the right, then back to the left before tipping the semi over on the passenger side landing in the driving lane of the interstate.
The Patrol says restraints were in use and the semi tractor was totaled. Parris was flown by Air Link from the scene 3 miles east of Kimball to Regional West in Scottsbluff.
