Estimated 1,000 entertained by Marty Stuart
An estimated 1,000 people turned out Thursday night for a benefit concert at Five Rocks Amphitheater in Gering featuring country music legend Marty Stuart and the Superlatives.
Stuart played for an hour and a half delighting the crowd with many of his hits, including "I'm Tempted", "Hillbilly Rock", "Western Girls", This One's Gonna Hurt, and more.
The event was a fundraiser for the Farm and Ranch Museum and all the ticket and concession sales went to the Museum because Westco paid for the cost to bring Stuart to western Nebraska. Panhandle Coop provided the concessions, and the Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and other businesses provided rooms, food, and other amenities for the band and their technicians while they were here.
Ben Treffer was the opening act.
