Smith: High voter turnout bodes well for change

Third District Congressman Adrian Smith believes the high voter turnout in many sections of the country, including Scotts Bluff County, bodes well for those looking for change.

The Gering Republican cast his ballot this morning, telling KNEB News during a luncheon for supporters at West Nebraska Regional Airport that voting on election day is what he personally prefers.

Smith says a balanced budget can be achieved while protecting entitlement programs for seniors. he says with the surpluses that would arise from a balanced budget, America could begin erasing the $16 trillion deficit.

Smith is a heavy favorite to win his fourth term in the House. Smith will be in Kearney and Lincoln this evening watching the election results.
