Bayard 3rd grader wins NARD poster contest

(Bayard) – Cambree Schmaltz, 3rd grader from Bayard Elementary, was honored for winning the Nebraska Association of Resources District's (NARD) 2013 Poster Contest second and third grade division. The contest is annual event sponsored by Nebraska's Natural Resources Districts (NRDs). Congressman Adrian Smith was on hand to present her with a Congressional Certificate noting her remarkable achievement.

The theme for 2013 was "Where Does Your Water Shed?" The theme for 2014 will be "Dig Deeper: Mysteries in the Soil", and it is open to all school aged kids from kindergarten to sixth grade.

Schmaltz's principal, Matt McLaughlin, said that Cambree has also organized three fundraisers this year.
