Woman facing weapons charges
A 37 year old Scottsbluff woman is facing two felony charges after an argument in east Scottsbluff Thursday evening.
Christine Leach had a first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Friday on charges of terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to the arrest affidavit, Scottsbluff Police responded just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the Eastwood Apartments on a reported shooting. A witness stated that Leach was in an argument with a man identified as Joey Palamo. The witness reportedly heard a gunshot and saw Palamo flee the area. Leach was then observed running upstairs, where she reportedly pulled a revolver from the front waistband of her pants and concealed it in a wastebasket. She then left the area but was contacted by police 1/2 block away.
Palamo reported that Leach had pointed the gun at him, threatened to shoot him, and then fired the gun at him.
The revolver, which was reportedly stolen in Gering on October 2nd, was recovered from the wastebasket and Leach was arrested.
Leach is being held in the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center on $250,000 bond and will have a preliminary hearing on November 6th at 1:30 p.m.
