Then there were none

Following the 2011-12 basketball season there was plenty of excitement around Scottsbluff. The Scottsbluff High School boys basketball team had just won the school's first state championship since 1955.

And people were thrilled that three of the senior stars off that team, Isaiah Castellaw, Zach Clemens and Rich Williams were all staying in town to play for the Western Nebraska Cougars.

Just a season later those three have departed WNCC. Castellaw was the first to go. He will run track at Chadron State College next year. Clemens followed with an announcement that he would transfer to the University of Nebraska-Kearney to play next year. Now the third member of the group, Rich Williams, has announced he will play ball next season at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington.

Williams told KNEB Sports that WNCC, "was a great learning experience for me." He added he looked at a number of options for next season, but felt that EWC was the best fit for him.
