Over $14,000 raised for Festival of Hope at "Save a Rack" promotion
The Festival of Hope and cancer patients were the big winner Wednesday night as over $14,000 was raised during the first annual "Save a Rack" at Backarack's promotion, promoted by KNEB and a host of sponsors.
The Festival of Hope has provided over $1 million to assist cancer patients with their non-medical expenses during cancer treatments over the last eight years.
The final count will also include money raised from a 50/50 raffle and the sale of pink t-Shirts. A check presentation to Dr. Vince Bjorling and his wife Vicki, who established the Festival of Hope.
Over 100 bras were donated for the auction, with two bras selling for over $1,500. An estimated 400 people were in attendance. The event will be held annually during October, breast cancer awareness month
