Cougars fall in bball tournament at Casper

The Western Nebraska Cougar men's basketball team gave it all they had but fell to 12th rated College of Southern Idaho, 68-67, at the Region IX/XVIII Challenge Tournament in Casper Friday.

The tournament features two teams from each of those regions. WNCC and Casper represent Region IX, while CSI and Salt Lake Community College are on hand from Region XVIII.

The Cougar contest was close all game long with the 1-3 Cougars holding a one-point, 35-34, lead at halftime. In fact, they lead the entire game. CSI didn't hold a lead until the final 12-seconds of the contest.

The Cougars were led by freshman Youssoupha Kane who had 10, points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Russ Beck's crew will face Salt Lake Saturday.
