KNEB-FM back on full power

Crews on the tower putting up the final of 12 antenna bays Friday.

For the first time since January 9th, KNEB-FM is back operating on a full signal.

Engineers replaced and upgraded the antenna on the tower over the last few days, battling strong winds and bitter cold conditions. Work was finished Monday morning around 11 a.m.

KNEB-FM broadcasts from tower facilities located on top of Wildcat Hills south of Scottsbluff which added a degree of difficulty to the project as winds were generally stronger and there was more snow on the hill.

"We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we were on reduced power," Director of Operations Bill Boyer said. "We know a lot of people enjoy listening to KNEB and we know that some areas have been unable to hear us clearly for the past few weeks."

The antenna failure occurred on January 9th when tower crews were replacing burned out lights on the tower.

"We look forward to serving you from our new improved equipment," Boyer added.
