Wyoming inks two players
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) _ Wyoming says two forwards from California and Colorado Springs have signed national letters of intent to join the Cowboys.
Coach Larry Shyatt said Wednesday that Keonta Vernon of Tulare Calif., and Alan Herndon of Colorado Springs, Colo., will begin
their Wyoming careers next fall.
Vernon is a 6-foot-6 forward at Tulare Union High School. He was 300 points shy of the school's all-time scoring mark of 1,475 points entering his senior season. He also is a wide receiver on the football team.
Herndon is 6-foot-8 and 175 pounds. His father, Mike, played for VMI in the 1980s.
Herndon is entering his senior season at Widefield High School and also had considered Colorado, Denver and Air Force.
