Thedford man nominated for small business award

Jack Johnston, former owner of Pearson Livestock Equipment in Thedford, has been nominated for the Small Business Person of the Year award as part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's 2013 Small Business Week.

Sara McMillan, a Business Consultant for the Nebraska Business Development Center at the University of Nebraska-Kearney submitted the nomination. She says Johnston's innovation is evidenced through his many product developments including the straight sidewall squeeze chute, an adjustable ally, sweep tub, hydraulic chute, and a full line of bison equipment.

Pearson Livestock successfully transitioned to new ownership this past January.
