Chadron accident sends one to hospital, damages park

Chadron Police estimate an injury accident Saturday afternoon caused an estimated $7,0000 damage to a local park.

Police say the accident occurred in Wilson Park,, where Police say the driver of a Ford pickup rolled his vehicle after hitting a fence and a tree.

The driver, 28 year old Jacob Spears was cited for drunk driving, criminal mischief, willful reckless driving, and no operators license. A passenger in the vehicle, 43 year old Richard Little Moon, was taken to the Chadron hospital for injuries from the accident, although both men were outside of the vehicle when officers arrived at the scene.

Estimated damage to the park involved two fences and landscape. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $1,700.
