Scottsbluff council to discuss law enforcement, drought response

The Scottsbluff City Council Monday evening will discuss the possibility of contracting with the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's office for law enforcement services. After meeting with the Mayors of Terrytown, Scottsbluff, Gering, and County Board Chair Mark Masterton, Sheriff Mark Overman has indicated he will research the possibility of a countywide law enforcement agency administered by his office and have a plan to the cities and the board by April 1st.

The council will also discuss possible water restrictions and fireworks limitations due to anticipated dry weather, have additional discussion on City Manager Rick Kuckkahn's annual performance review, and discuss the pros and cons of developing a biennial budget, which has now been approved by the legislature
