Chadron holds off Scottsbluff 11-8

Host Chadron jumped out to an 8-2 lead after two innings against Scottsbluff Tuesday night and held on for an 11-8 win in girls softball.

Scottsbluff struck first with a run in the top half of the first inning when Hannah Brown doubled home Zoe Holscher, but Chadron bounced back with a five run bottom half of the inning.

The Bearcats tallied another run in the second when Lou Ramirez led off the inning being hit by a pitch. She came around to score when Brown reached on one of four Chadron errors in the game.

Mikka Salazar added a third inning tally for Scottsbluff. She led off the inning with a walk and came into score on a ground out by Chloe Reifschneider.

The Cats pulled to within 8-7 with a four run top of the sixth inning. Barbara Calvert led the way with a run scoring single. However, Chadron retaliated with a three run bottom of the inning to go back up by four.

Scottsbluff tallied on run in the seventh on a run scoring single by Alex Salazar.

The Cats are scheduled to play in Norfolk this weekend.
