Scottsbluff schools to begin summer meals program

Beginning this coming Monday, June 9th Scottsbluff schools will begin the 2014 Summer Food Service Program with two Scottsbluff locations serving hot meals until July 25th.

As in the past, Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at both Roosevelt Elementary School located at 1306 9th Avenue, and Lincoln Heights Elementary at 2214 Avenue C in Scottsbluff.

Hot, nutritious meals will be provided to all children 18 years of age and younger free of charge. Adults may eat for $3.50.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Scottsbluff Public Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. For more information about the national Summer Food Service Program, visit http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer.
