A 42 year old homeless man from Minatare had a first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Monday on a felony theft charge after allegedly failing to pay a motel bill.

Court documents accuse Jonathan Arndt of staying at the Scottsbluff Lamplighter American Inn from December 24th through January 7th, failing to pay the bill for the stay after a number of attempts to collect on the debt.

Arndt is charged with theft of services more than $500 but less than $1,500, a class IV felony.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 30th at 2:45 p.m.

Arndt is being held on $15,000 bond with a 10% cash provision.
