Widespread snow falls across region

Most areas of western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming saw widespread snowfall Saturday.

The National Weather Service reported snowfall totals ranged from an inch or two to 6 to 8 inches. The heaviest snows were reported northwest of Sidney, and in northern Sioux and Dawes counties.

Roads were slick in some locations. The snow forced the cancellation of the Oktoberfest parade in Sidney, and forced the postponement of a few area events.
