CCS locks doors after suspicious person report

Community Christian School locked their doors as a precaution Friday afternoon after a suspicious person was reported in the neighborhood around the school.

Scottsbluff Police received a report from a citizen at approximately 1:50 p.m. that a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and walking with a pit-bull dog was seen walking eastbound in the 700 block of West Overland. Police Captain Brian Wasson says the man was also reportedly carrying a large black in color rifle. The citizen first called the Community Christian School to inform them of the man and estimated that 20-25 minutes had elapsed since the report to police.

Officers responded to the area and searched for the person but no one matching the description was located in the area surrounding the initial report as well as the school.

The police department encourages persons making reports of this nature to us immediately to allow for identification and investigation of suspicious persons.
