"Food for Fines" in December at Lied Scottsbluff Public Library
Lied Scottsbluff Public Library is pleased to announce its 2nd annual Food for Fines drive beginning Sunday, December 1 and continuing through Tuesday, December 31.
In partnership with Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN), the library will be collecting non-perishable food items to help families in our community this holiday season.
For every non-perishable item donated, the library will forgive $1 in fines only (this cannot be applied to lost/damaged items or collection fees).
In order to encourage donations to the food pantry, the library will not be observing fine free Wednesdays and Saturdays in the month of December. Fines will only be forgiven through non-perishable food donation. Don't have any fines at the library? Please feel free to donate anyway, as all items are appreciated.
Non-perishable items needed at the food pantry include canned goods (soups, vegetables, etc.), crackers, Mac & Cheese (both boxed and microwaveable), jelly, peanut butter, Ramen noodles, pudding/Jell-O, fruit snacks, chicken/beef broths, Hamburger Helper, stuffing, flour, sugar, baking soda and powder, salt and pepper, and other non-perishable items. No glass please.
Thanks to the City of Scottsbluff Recreation Department who will assist the library in transporting all non-perishable food items donated to the CAPWN food pantry.
The Lied Scottsbluff Public Library is located at 1809 3rd Avenue, Scottsbluff. For more information about Food for Fines, please call 308-630-6250.
