City officials meet in Chadron

About 15 mayors, city managers, and other officials from around the Panhandle met Friday in Chadron...their third quarterly get-acquainted and update session.

Chadron City Manager Wayne Anderson says the gatherings have been very beneficial. "It's very good; we can share ideas we're doing in different communities and help each other out. It's an excellent format to get together and discuss those things.

The first meeting was 6 months ago in Bridgeport and the second was 3 months ago in Alliance. Anderson says officials in both did a good job of showing off some of the things...both in the public and private sectors...that their cities are going, so he jumped at the chance to host this time.

The meeting also had a special guest: Nebraska Department of Roadss District 5 Engineer Craig Lind, who gave the city leaders a briefing on upcoming road projects and how those might interact with planned city projects.
