Police ask for help in vandalism, shooting
Scottsbluff Police are asking for the public's help regarding a weekend vandalism and a shooting.
Police Captain Brian Wasson says Police are looking for the person who drove through the Lander Soccer fields, including areas recently seeded, causing an estimated $600 damage. Police are reviewing available surveillance video, but would like those who used the park over the weekend to give them a call so they can narrow down when the vandalism occurred. Any other info would also be helpful.
Police are also investigating the firing of shots around 2 a.m. Saturday at Bea Lovell Park in the 1800 block of East 10th Street. Residents confirmed hearing three shots that Police discovered were fired into the backboard of a metal basketball hoop in the park. They also found three spent .22 casings in the area, but there are no witness reports on a vehicle or individual in the area.
Anyone with information about the vandalism or shooting can contact the Scottsbluff Police Department, 308-632-7176 at or Scotts Bluff County Crime Stoppers at 308-632-STOP (7867).
