Gering Council Chambers receive tech facelift
A series of upgrades to the Gering City Council Chambers will not only make the council meetings easier for those in attendance to hear, but will also provide video accessability to the public through Charter Media.
Gering Mayor Ed Mayo says the upgraded sound system will eliminate dead spots in the room where people had trouble hearing. He says you can hear the council members in normal conversational volume, from anywhere in the room.
Mayo says the meetings will be broadcast live on Charter Media on a digital channel to be named, and will feature split video so the person addressing the council can also be seen.
The upgrades are basically completed, but Mayo said there were some finishing touches being done, and he wasn't sure if the system would be ready by the next council meeting.
Mayo said the School Board would also enjoy the opportunity to broadcast live from their meetings as well.
