A state requested delay in the trial of a 27 year old Mitchell man on a felony drug charge was granted Friday by Scotts Bluff County District Court judge Leo Dobrovolny.

George Valles is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver (more than 140 grams) after a January 10th search of his Mitchell home led to the seizure of over 18 ounces of methamphetamine.

Deputy County Attorney Scott Blaha asked for the continuance after Dobrovolny earlier this week granted a motion by the defense to suppress evidence in the case.

Valles' counsel, Todd Morton, objected to the continuance and argued for the charge to be dismissed, but Dobrovolny granted the postponement pending a status hearing Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
