A 19 year old man facing a felony incest charge has been bound over to District Court after a first appearance in Scotts Bluff County Court Tuesday.

Yonathan Robles is facing one count of incest, a class III felony. Court documents say Scottsbluff Police responded to a report of a woman having been strangled by her own mother the previous evening. The woman told police that her mother had attempted to strangle her with a coat hanger after finding out she was pregnant and the father was her biological half-brother, Yonathan.

The documents say the woman told police she and Yonathan had decided several months ago to experiment sexually together consensually and that he is the only one she has had sex with. During an interview at the police station, Robles estimated that he and his half-sister had sex five times since January, with the last time being earlier this month.

In Nebraska, incest carries a possible prison sentence of 1 to 20 years.

Robles will be arraigned on the charge Friday afternoon in Scotts Bluff County District Court. Bond is set at $75,000 with a 10% cash provision.
