Sidney Falls To GINW In State Opener

Playing in the first ever state tournament game at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln this morning the Sidney Lady Red Raiders were knocked off by top seeded Grand Island Northwest in a Class B quarterfinal by the final of 65-44. The Lady Vikings jumped out to a 10-4 advantage and never looked back, leading at halftime 35-18. Senior Sarah Mahr led Sidney in scoring with 19 points. Abbi Porter scored six points while Kaetlin Cole and Cody Rowley chipped in five apiece. Sidney finishes their season with a record of 17-8.

For GINW it was McKenzie Brown leading the way with 25 points while Katie Placke finished with 17. Northwest moves into the state semifinals with a record of 23-2.
