Bridgeport man accused in farm theft
A Bridgeport man is out on $1,500 cash bond after he was charged with vandalizing and stealing farm equipment, then cutting it up for resale as scrap iron. 29 year old Chad Rader is charged with two counts of felony theft and felony criminal mischief.
Sheriff Milo Cardenas says his office was called out June first to a report of a vandalized sprayer and missing farm equipment. Cardenas says the next day the missing equipment was found, some of it cut up for scrap metal. As the investigation progressed, Rader was arrested after authorities seized a trailer full of cut up scrap iron that had been a farm disc.
Rader has challenged his bind over to district court, and a hearing on that motion is scheduled July 10th.
