Ricketts targeted at GOP governor debate
There was a lot of agreement among the six GOP candidates for governor at last night's debate in Norfolk. But at the end, when candidates were allowed to address other candidates, State Senator Tom Carlson questioned Omaha businessman Pete Ricketts about his lack of experience in state government.
Ricketts, a former top executive at TD Ameritrade said the state needs someone with experience in the private sector.
Ricketts was also questioned by State senator Beau McCoy about statements he is in favor of a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Ricketts said he does not support amnesty and his comments included sending illegal aliens back home before they started the legal citizenship process.
The winner of the May primary will move on to face Democrat Chuck Hassebrook in the fall.
