The Nebraska Department of Roads will hold the fourth of eight open house meetings statewide this month regarding their study on Intercity bus usage within the state. The meeting Wednesday evening in Scottsbluff will provide information and gather input from the community to assess needs across the state.

Kari Ruse with the Nebraska Department of Roads in Lincoln tells KNEB News they will ask people to fill out a brief survey on general transportation needs within the state. Ruse says Intercity Bus is defined as transporting the general public over a fixed route, connecting two or more urban areas in the state. She says that's the definition from the Federal Transit Administration. She says here in Nebraska that often means transporting people from a rural area to an urban area.

In addition to the Intercity Bus, Ruse says they are looking for input on general public transportation awareness and ability across the state.

The public is invited to attend and present relevant comments and questions at the meeting, which will be held from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday evening at the Harms Center in Scottsbluff.
