In the early morning hours of May 9th, the Gering Convention & Visitors Bureau together with the City of Gering and the Valley Visions Committee implemented the first recommendations from Gering's Downtown Revitalization Plan by installing new "Downtown Gering Parking" signs at three public parking lots in downtown.

The new signs are prominent and visible from primary feeder streets to the lots. "Making Gering's downtown a destination for both visitors and residents; to dine, shop and be entertained is our goal and clearly indicating where there is free parking is very important to our efforts and meeting our customer's needs", stated Niedan-Streeks.

New Downtown Gering Parking signs were installed at N & 11th Street lot (behind the Union Bar), P Street (east of the Gering Post Office), and 9th & N Street parking lot (behind Gloria's Styling Salon).
