Target donates $1,500 to United Way

The United Way of Western Nebraska has received a $1,500 grant from Target to help fund its 2014 Day-of-Caring Food Packaging Event. The grant will help support the cost of the food product and supplies for the Packaging Event, which is designed to address food insecurity and hunger issues in communities served by the local organization.

Steph Black, Director of United Way of Western Nebraska says 150-175 community volunteers will help package 50,000 meals (8,333 packages, each serving 6) that will be distributed to local food pantries, soup kitchens, school weekend food backpack programs and disaster relief organizations.
