Four businesses fail alcohol compliance checks
Four businesses have failed the latest series of alcohol compliance checks conducted by the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Department, Scottsbluff Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol. The checks were conducted on 83 businesses in conjunction with volunteers from the Monument Prevention Coalition. With the four businesses that failed, there was a five percent non-compliance rate.
The four business that failed the compliance checks were:
Maverik #422, 920 West 36th Street, Scottsbluff * (prior 4/13)
Sam & Louie's NY Pizzeria, 1522 Broadway, Scottsbluff
Stagecoach Stop, 320 M Street, Gering
th and O EastCo convenience store, 503 E. Overland, Scottsbluff
"It's clear from the results that the majority of the businesses in Scotts Bluff County abide by the law and refuse to sell to minors," said Lanette Richards, Project Coordinator with Monument Prevention Coalition, "but there are still a few businesses that violate the law and put our youth at risk." Of the four businesses that failed, only one has a prior sale to minor violation on record with the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. The latest citation marks the second violation in 2013 for Maverik's at 920 West 36th Street in Scottsbluff.
