Scottsbluff man wins $35,000 on scratch lottery ticket
A Scottsbluff man is $24,500 richer today after getting paid his winnings from a $35,000 lottery ticket, minus the tax payment.
Ted Schaaf says he was at Gas-A-Mat Thursday morning adjacent to the Scottsbluff YMCA and purchased three scratch tickets. Schaaf says he went back to his office at Linweld and found out he was a winner when he scratched the first ticket. he says he had other employees look at it to see if he was correct and then got it officially verified back at Gas-A-Mat.
Schaaf says he went over to the state office building across the street and twenty minutes later he had a check. Schaaf says he will pay off a few bills and he and his wife Kim may take a little trip (possibly Las Vegas while he's hot), and he will stick the rest in the savings account for future use.
Schaaf says the family was excited and his kids told him it was only fitting he hit a good size prize from the gambling he does.
