Rockies make some moves

DENVER (AP) _ Outfielder Xavier Nady has agreed to a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies.

The 34-year-old had agreed to a minor league contract with Kansas City in December and was hitting .310 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs with Triple-A Omaha.

His deal with Kansas City gave him the ability to terminate the contract if he was not added to the major league roster by May 1, and he was released by the Royals on Sunday to allow him to sign with Colorado.

The Rockies have also promoted left-hander Drew Pomeranz from
the minors.

Pomeranz was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs before Sunday's game against San Francisco. Right-hander Rob Scahill was optioned to Triple-A.

The 24-year-old Pomeranz was 8-1 with a 4.20 ERA in 15 starts with Colorado Springs. He struck out 96 and walked 33 in 85 2-3 innings.

Pomeranz was 2-9 with a 4.93 ERA in 22 starts with the Rockies in 2012.

Scahill was 0-0 with a 4.26 ERA in 13 relief appearances with the Rockies.
