CSC golfers finish 6th

Emma Harris turned in CSC's top score

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Chadron State College women's golf team shot a round of 342 to finish in sixth place at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Tuesday.

The Eagles, who cut nine strokes off their opening 18-hole total during Tuesday's final round, shot 695 over the two-day tournament.

Western New Mexico cruised to the team title with 614. Colorado State University-Pueblo was second with 638.

Western New Mexico's Arrianna Estrada won the tournament by shooting 145 over 36 holes. Her 1-over par score was six strokes better than the second place finisher.

Emma Harris shot the best round for Chadron State (82) on Tuesday and led the Eagles with 169. Karissa Moreland wasn't far behind with 174 and Emilee Pilkington carded 177.

Also for Chadron State, Darcy Vernon shot 181 and Schuyler Wetzel finished with 183.

Three of Chadron State's golfers – Harris, Pilkington and Vernon – all finished the RMAC Championship with their best scores of the spring. In addition, all five CSC golfers finished in the top 30.

Chadron State will host South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in a dual Thursday at Ridgeview Country Club in Chadron. The dual is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
