Gering council to consider grant application to expand pathway
The Gering city council Monday evening will consider approving a resolution to be a co-sponosr in an application for federal funds to expand the Monument Valley Pathway system. City Administrator Lane Danielzuk says the expanion would move the pathway from the Scotts Bluff National Monument to the Legacy of the Plains Museum and then on to U Street.
The application asks for $500,000 in federal funds for the expansion with a 20% local match. Danielzuk says the city would like Scotts Bluff County and the Legacy of the Plains Museum to also be co-sponsors.
The council will also hear from Sheriff Mark Overman on his research into a countywide law enforcement agency and receive a quarterly report from Twin Cities Development.
