Two CSC wrestlers nationally ranked

Mitchell's Jordan Debus

EDMOND, Okla. – Chadron State College's Dustin Stodola and Jordan Debus are each ranked in the preseason poll released Wednesday by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Chadron State wrestling team also received votes to finish just outside the preseason top 20. Notre Dame of Ohio edged out two-time defending national champion Nebraska-Kearney to claim the top spot. The Eagles, though, are one of nine teams receiving votes outside the top 20.

Stodola, a senior from Clarkson, Neb., is ranked eighth at 133 pounds. Stodola had a 9-5 record while redshirting last season at 133. Two of his victories were against Casy Rowell of Central Oklahoma, who is ranked fourth.

DeBus, a senior from Mitchell and a returning All-American, is ranked third at 184. DeBus has qualified for the national tournament three straight seasons and led the Eagles with a record of 24-13 in 2012-13.

The Chadron State wrestling team will host a public practice Saturday at 9 a.m. The Eagles will also host the Black and Cardinal Classic Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
