A Minatare man convicted by a Scotts Bluff County District Court jury of two felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine was sentenced in Scotts Bluff County District Court Tuesday.

61 year old George Schaneman was sentenced to serve 4 to 6 years on each of two counts for delivering packaged methamphetamine in to WING drug investigators in two controlled buys. The terms will be served concurrently.

Judge Randy Lippstreu said Schaneman had an extensive criminal history including prison time for a previous drug distribution charge and had scales and packaging material in his home consistent with a drug distributor. Schaneman, who is disabled and had back issues, claimed meth alleviated his pain and denied he was a dealer.

Schaneman will be eligible for parole in two years
