SB County hoping to be on statewide communications network by fall

While Scotts Bluff County is not yet part of the statewide law enforcement communications network that came on line just over a year ago, that day may not be far away.

Ray Richards, Director of the Consolidated Communications Center says they have the approval to join the they just need the $23,000 to purchase the equipment. Richards says they would like to see all of the communities that will benefit from the system pitch in to cover the cost. Richards says they will be explaining the system to those communities in the coming weeks.

Richards says they have also been provided with a radio from Wyoming that will allow them to have similar connectivity with law enforcement agencies in that state. And while it's hard to give a definite timeline, Richards says they would like to have the system up and online by this fall.
