Scottsbluff to begin advertising for assistant city manager on Friday
The city of Scottsbluff will begin advertising for an assistant city on Friday, December 21st. Earlier we had reported it would be Monday, the 17th.
It has been close to 15 years since the city has had an assistant city manager and City Manager Rick Kuckkahn says there is a definite need. Kuckkahn says the city has eliminated administrative positions over the last few years in an effort to streamline and it has now caught up with them.
Kuckkhan says they have a real need for someone with technology skills to install a new administrative software system over the next six months to a year.
Kuckkahn says the assistant city manager also needs human resource skills to help with new responsibilities regarding the federal health care law and other regulatory requirements. Kuckkahn says the person selected would also be groomed to take his place when he is ready to retire in a few years.
