Plea agreement reached in Harrisburg man's sex assault case
A Harrisburg man charged with the statutory rape of a 14 year old girl has tentatively agreed to plea to a lesser charge. Court documents in Scotts Bluff County District Court indicate the prosecution and 20 year old Robert Cross have entered into a plea agreement on a charge of attempted first degree sexual assault. The state has also agreed to recommend a sentence of supervised probation under the condition Cross takes part in counseling.
Court documents indicate the victim told Police she was at Cross' Scottsbluff apartment last June when they began kissing. Police say when Cross wanted to undress the girl she said no but Cross persisted.
The victim told a school counselor late last year, and Cross was arrested January 4th following a Police interview.
