Community forum Tuesday evening to address poor report statistics
The public is invited to attend a community forum this Tuesday to discuss statistics presented in a legislative report on the economies of communities in Nebraska. State Senator John Harms and Dr. Jerry Deichert from the University of Nebraska at Omaha will conduct the forum and go through their findings that were presented in the report.
That report reflected where Scotts Bluff County stands in terms of poverty, age, education and other demographics when compared with the rest of the state. The county compared poorly in each of those areas, which is the reason why the forum has been organized.
Scottsbluff Mayor Randy Meininger says community leaders are looking to establish a joint-effort taskforce comprised of business and community leaders, who are committed to turning the tide on local poverty as a result of the forum.
The forum will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6 to 9 p.m. at WNCC's Harms Center.
