Cougars advance to second round

Second seeded Western Nebraska Community College swept into round two of the National Junior College Volleyball Tournament in West Plains, MO. downing Wallace State-Hanceville of Alabama in an opening round match Thursday morning 25-19, 25-19 and 25-1l.

It's the third time in the past four years the Cougars have topped the Lions in the opening round of the national tournament.

The win moves the 38-2 Cougars into a second round match against 23-5 North Idaho College. They topped Hutchinson Community College of Kansas in a first round match 25-20, 25-15, and 25-19.

In two other first round contests third seeded Iowa Western moved to 44-2 with a 25-18, 25-18 and 25-18 win over No. 14 Temple, Texas. Sixth seeded Central Florida won their first round match Over Western Texas 25-12, 25-21 and 25-14.
