Zwonechek hoping for safe holiday season
A snowstorm that moved through the Midwest and plains states Wednesday into Thursday had motorists slipping and sliding, causing scores of fender benders and other mishaps and unfortunately -- two fatalities. Starting in mid-December and continuing through Jan. 1, 2013, Neb. law enforcement agencies are taking part in the nationwide "You Drink & Drive You Lose" campaign aimed at removing impaired drivers from the roads. A nearly $28,000 grant from the Neb. Office of Highway Safety will help pay to put more troopers on the road during the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
