Stinner: Bankers hindered by over-regulation
The incoming Chairman of the Nebraska Bankers Association says the Obama Administration's regulatory environment is hindering the financial industry's ability to loan money. Valley Bank President John Stinner of Gering says there is so much paperwork coming from the federal government, it is difficult to know what to do in response.
Stinner says no matter what industry you are in, it is like "regulators on steroids", which he believes has caused the slowdown in entrepreneurial efforts. Stinner says the banks have plenty of money to loan, but it is just a matter of finding people that want to invest in the current environment.
Stinner will be installed as NBA Chairman Friday at the Association's annual convention in La Vista.
