Sidney man enters guilty pleas to drug and firearm counts
A Sidney man arrested as Police were investigating a murder in the community has entered guilty pleas to drug and firearm charges. 50 year old Donald Schlieker will be sentenced March 6th after he entered guilty pleas Tuesday to charges of delivering marijuana and attempted paossession of a defaced firearm.
Schlieker was arrested when officers found a rifle with a removed serial number in the home of murder suspect Larry Martinez. Schlieker, who also lived in the home, claimed he didn't know the gun was altered and that it had been brought to the home by a friend. Martinez is suspected in the shooting death of Mandy Kershman.
Schlieker was arrested in the drug case for selling marijuana two years ago to an undercover officer. Schlieker could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison on the two counts.
