Terrytown shopping for water
The Scottsbluff City Council Monday will discuss the possibility of providing the city of Terrytown with water. Terrytown has experienced a number of issues dealing with federal changes in the allowed levels of arsenic.
Terrytown Mayor Kent Greenwalt says three options have been proposed, including obtaining land and constructing a new well field, building a treatment plant, or the route they are currently exploring, which is obtain water from another community.
Scottsbluff Water Supervisor Jack Satur says they do have capacity to meet Terrytown's demand. However, he says like Minatare, Terrytown would be responsible for any expenses for modifications to Scottsbluff's permit and additional costs to supply the water.
