Platte Valley Companies Tuesday contributed $25,000 to the project to install an all-weather track at the Sports Complex at Bayard Public Schools. The contribution boosts contributions to $386,000, or just over 80% of the $450,000 needed to complete the project. The project will be started after school ends with hopes of being completed in time for the beginning of the school year next fall.

In making the donation, Platte Valley Companies President and CEO Hod Kosman said it was "easy to invest" in another great project for the youth of the region. Kosman added, "We want to thank the Bayard community for their vision and coming together to make this project happen."

Bayard Public Schools Superintendent Travis Miller thanked Platte Valley Companies for their contribution and said "We are ecstatic about all the support we have received. This is a tremendous benefit to the kids and our community.

The Oregon Trail Community Foundation is the facilitator for the project, and the organization's President Travis Hiner said they are pleased to assist with the public-private partnership for a project that will be used by so many of the area's youth.
