PVC assures veterans have van for travel to Cheyenne

Veterans don't have to worry about whether they are going to have good transportation to the Cheyenne Veteran's Medical Center. Platte Valley Companies Friday presented Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Officer John Brehm with a $14,000 check to assist in the purchase of a new van to take patients to the Cheyenne facility.

Brehm says quality transportation is vital for the veterans, especially those who would have difficulty taking the trip on their own.

The van is given to the Cheynne VA Medical Center, and they cover the insurance, maintenance and gas. The van travels to Cheyenne Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Brehm says the vans travel over 150,000 miles over four years before they get a new one.

Platte Valley CEO Hod Kosman says the company has contributed in the past for such endeavors, adding " It's really important that the veterans who have done so much for us get to the medical services they need."
